LONDON, UK, 16 October: To celebrate spooky season, BACARDÍ® is resurrecting the 00s, hosting a Y2K-themed Halloween party on Thursday, 22 October, bringing back the sounds, style and attitude of an era experiencing a major resurgence.

Taking place at The Cross, London, one of the UK's most legendary clubs of the 00s, Shy FX (best known for his era-defining Top 10 hit 'Shake Ur Body') will bring the decade back to the dancefloor, before introducing a surprise performance from another noughties star.

The night will bring the unmistakable energy of the 00s to life, recreating the kind of night usually found on an old club flyer or a forgotten mixtape. From the sounds filling the dancefloor to the nostalgic details throughout The Cross, guests will be immersed in the era, dressing in their best 00s-coded looks and sipping BACARDÍ & Cokes – an icon of 00s club nights that is still a dancefloor favourite today.

Synonymous with the 2000s, BACARDÍ is here to bring the era back to life for a generation whose obsession with noughties nostalgia has largely played out online. Now, they can experience it IRL: a time when the dancefloor was a place to express yourself, dance freely and live in the moment - and there was no better place to do that than The Cross.

Known for hosting some of the UK’s biggest nights and acts, [The Cross to provide details of iconic nights], The Cross came to define the energy and freedom of 00s nightlife. Now, for one night only this Halloween, The Cross is turning back the clock.

Lesley-Anne Cohen, Marketing Manager for BACARDÍ rum, said: “BACARDÍ has a distinctive place at Halloween with our iconic bat, limited-edition bottles and connection to club culture. And this Halloween, with our audience embracing the sounds and style of the 00s, we’re resurrecting the spirit of the era at The Cross, giving them the chance to experience the music, energy and freedom of a legendary noughties night out first-hand, including a personalised take on the BACARDÍ & Coke, a serve that continues to live at the heart of UK dancefloors.”

Reflecting on the decade, Shy FX said: “The 00s were a mad time for partying. The energy on the dancefloor, the mix of people, everyone living in the moment. That’s what drum and bass and jungle have always been about. The Cross was a massive part of that culture. It’ll be sick to bring some of that same energy to this night with BACARDÍ."

Billy Reilly, Owner of The Cross, commented: “The Cross was at the heart of London’s dance scene in the 00s, and the nights people enjoyed here are still talked about today. To bring that energy back for one night only with BACARDÍ is a pretty special opportunity. It’s the one and only time we’ll be turning back the clock to this era and we can’t wait for people to experience the magic of the noughties.”

This Halloween, BACARDÍ has also released a new limited-edition ghost bottle, making its return to the UK by popular demand. Following previous designs featuring scary characters including menacing grins, this year’s edition takes a ghostly turn, with a haunting new design brought to life by glow-in-the-dark technology. When the lights go out, the bottle reveals an illuminated ghost design, making it perfect for a Halloween party gift, as haunted house décor, or a spooky drinks cabinet addition this October.

The bottle is filled with the iconic BACARDÍ Carta Blanca Rum, which is best poured into a BACARDÍ & Coke or a Spookito, a delicious Halloween twist on the original BACARDÍ Mojito. The ghost bottle is the perfect treat to get into the spirit of the season and is available in supermarkets nationwide including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons & Waitrose while stocks last (RRP: 1L £25, 70cl £19).

About BACARDÍ® rum - The World's Most Awarded Rum

In 1862, in the city of Santiago de Cuba, founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó revolutionized the spirits industry when he created a light-bodied rum with a particularly smooth taste – BACARDÍ. The unique taste of BACARDÍ rum inspired cocktail pioneers to invent some of the world's most famous recipes including the BACARDÍ Mojito, the BACARDÍ Daiquiri, the BACARDÍ Cuba Libre, the BACARDÍ Piña Colada and the BACARDÍ El Presidente. BACARDÍ rum is the world's most awarded rum, with more than 1,000 awards for quality, taste, and innovation. Today, the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico is where BACARDÍ rum is crafted to ensure the taste remains the same today as it did when it was first blended in 1862. www.bacardi.com
