PATRÓN TEQUILA Opens the Virtual Bar to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

This year, Cinco de Mayo is a little different. It’s appreciating the moments that matter, even when we can’t choose where we physically spend them. To help people enjoy one of the most beloved tequila holidays, PATRÓN tequila worked to roll out several socially-distanced approved offerings to make sure everyone can still connect and celebrate Cinco de Mayo at home.

• Cinco Simply: This year – you don’t need all the usual trappings of Cinco de Mayo to celebrate, you just need to keep it simple. PATRÓN tequila will be opening up the Virtual Bar bringing 20 margaritas and 20 bartenders from around the nation to your screens on Cinco de Mayo. Viewers can tune into PATRÓN’s Instagram Live (@patron) on May 5th from 5:00 – 10:00 pm ET to join 20 bartenders across the country shake up easy-to-make #PatronMargarita recipes using ingredients likely found in the kitchen, as they provide tips and tricks for the perfect at-home Cinco de Mayo experience. As part of PATRÓN tequila’s continued efforts to give back to the hospitality industry during this critical time, PATRÓN tequila will be covering each bartender’s virtual shift and viewers can leave a “virtual tip” and donate to one of PATRÓN tequila’s partner charities, The James Beard Foundation, CORE and Another Round, Another Rally, throughout the virtual experience.
• Tequila & Tacos Drive Thru: In an effort to support hospitality employees in local communities, PATRÓN tequila will pop up in Denver, Dallas and Chicago on Cinco de Mayo offering PATRÓN margaritas and tacos from local restaurants via a “drive thru” format for out-of-work members of the United States Bartenders Guild to continue to support our friends and family in the bartending community.
• Cocktail To-Go Locator: For people who don’t want to mix up their own cocktails this Cinco de Mayo, you can easily get a PATRÓN margarita to-go or for home delivery. To continue to support local businesses, people can utilize the Cocktail-to-Go Locator on PATRÓN tequila’s website to order Cinco de Mayo cocktails direct to their door. The locator conveniently lists bars and restaurants offering cocktails to-go nearby by searching with your local zip code.
• Recipes: With a variety of delicious, versatile and easy-to-make margarita recipes, PATRÓN is the perfect spirit to enjoy at-home. For your Cinco de Mayo needs, the “Ask PATRÓN” feature on Google Home provides you with cocktail suggestions and tips, gift recommendations, tequila facts and more. Additionally, the PATRÓN’s Echo Skill on Echo and Echo Show devices, offers consumers a ‘personal bartender’ with 400+ cocktail how-to’s so you can craft cocktails safely from home. Here are three favorites recipes for Cinco de Mayo this year:
  
  PATRÓN Classic Margarita
  1.5 oz PATRÓN Silver
  1 oz PATRÓN Citrónge Orange
  .75 oz Fresh lime juice
  .25 oz Simple syrup
  + Lime wedge for garnish
  + Kosher salt (optional)
  Method: Combine liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a rocks glass and garnish with a lime wedge. Salt half the rim of the glass with kosher salt if desired.
  
  Perfect PATRÓN Margarita
  1.5 oz PATRÓN Reposado
  1 oz PATRÓN Citrónge Orange
  .75 oz Fresh lime juice
  .25 oz Simple syrup, to taste
  + Lime wheel for garnish
  + Kosher salt (optional)
  Method: Combine ingredients in the cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain into a salt-rimmed martini or rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel.
  
  Cucumber-Coconut Margarita
  1.5 oz PATRÓN Silver
  2 oz Coconut water
  .5 oz Fresh lime juice
  .5 oz Simple syrup
  7 Thin slices of cucumber, 3 for garnish
  Method: Combine all ingredients (including 4 of the cucumber slices) in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a highball glass. Garnish with remaining 3 cucumbers.
